Interim Program Director
Obstetrics & Gynecology
Henry Ford Providence Hospital
Welcome to the Henry Ford Providence Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency!
The goal of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Henry Ford Providence is to educate and train residents in all aspects of our specialty, and prepare our graduates for a career in general practice across a large variety of settings whether that be rural, suburban or urban.
Henry Ford Providence OB/GYN residents will have rotations in our two hospitals, Henry Ford Providence Southfield Campus and Henry Ford Providence Novi Campus, providing a robust and diverse inpatient experience.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has an engaged and enthusiastic faculty who consider residency education to be a major responsibility and priority. The department has three divisions: Maternal Fetal Medicine; Gynecologic Oncology; and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. As there are no fellowship programs in the department, our residents have the major responsibility and educational benefits for leading and participating in these diverse and high-volume services. Education in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility is provided in partnership with local subspecialists and also offers exceptional learning opportunities for our residents.
Other departmental activities that support residency training include medical student clerkships for Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the American University of the Caribbean students. Research activities are supported by both the Obstetrics and Gynecology department and the Graduate Medical Education department at Henry Ford.
Upon completion of our program, our residents have the confidence and skills required to be excellent clinicians and surgeons. While most of our graduates enter clinical practice in general obstetrics and gynecology, the foundations are also present to support those who wish to pursue subspecialty training and/or begin an academic career in obstetrics and gynecology.
We look forward to hearing from you and the opportunity to share more about the fabulous opportunities offered to our residents and our numerous success stories!
***The Henry Ford Providence Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency offers a four-year program, which is accredited for five categorical positions at each level by the Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
